The Morning Benders release a free cover album

The American band The Morning Benders is on tour promoting their debut album Talking Through Tin Cans, and the members took advantage of some of their free time to record a cover album. It includes songs by Paul Simon, Fleetwood Mac, Talking Heads, The Smiths and The Velvet Underground, and it can be downloaded for free from the band’s website. Here are the links:

1. Crying (Roy Orbison)
2. Mother and child reunion (Paul Simon)
3. Why dont they let us fall in love?(The Ronettes)
4. Lovefool (The Cardigans)
5. I won’t share you (The Smiths)
6. He’s a rebel (The Crystals)
7. Marie (Randy Newman)
8. Fools rush in (Johnny Mercer/Rube Bloom)
9. Temptation inside your heart (Velvet Underground)
10. Dreams (Fleetwood Mac)

Privé - El bazar de los locos

For awhile now, we have been wanting to share some songs by Privé, an experienced pop-rock trio from Mar del Plata, Argentina. They have already been around for more than ten years, during which they have released seven CDs and performed live an innumerable number of times, even managing to appear on Volver Rock and other music series on TV. Their last album is called El bazar de los locos, and throughout it they continue to develop a sound that is clearly influenced by Argentinean rock of the 70s, with some pop and radio-friendly elements. Included on the album is the version of Muchacha (ojos de papel) that they did for Al Flaco… dale gracias, the independent Spinetta tribute organized by Mar del Plata’s FM radio station D-rock. These are two songs from the album that are available for download:

Video from La Foca’s new album

La Foca is an Uruguayan indie band fronted by Federico González which, in sound and history, has much in common with Argentina’s Jaime Sin Tierra. For example, in the year 2000 they were the guest group for the launch of the latter’s Autochocador album in Buenos Aires. What’s more, the band already has two CDs out, and one more that is in the process of being released, with all of them having been recorded in Buenos Aires and produced by Jaime Sin Tierra’s Juan Stewart in his studio. The new album is called Vos Lejos de Vos and is going to come out in August, but you can already watch two video advances. One of them is Que se vaya, a short song that divides the disc into two sections, and the title track:
